ULTRADENSE URBANISM: International Congress : UPDATING DETAILS SOON !
The Congress will explore the particular conditions in which the negative space is shaped in ultradense environments as Dhaka City. The negative space is the void that separates the erotic from the political, as the two extremes conditions of the space. The density of Dhaka results in the narrowing of this void that obliged to a very particular definition of the boundaries between the common political space and the intimate erotic one. This phenomenon that happens in the packaging of the bodies, can be observed in the urban fabric as well.
What are the limits of human cohabitation?
What is the minimum distance you and I can be in public?
What is ULTRADENSITY?
During the congress we will present and discuss how this happens in different contexts and its connections with the urban environments where people live, exploring the connection
between urban density and social bonding.
In the workshop we will draw and model the space between bodies and buildings in Dhaka city in different activities and fabrics to unpack surprising and unexpected ways bodies/architecture coexist.
